22 Prime at Discovery Suites Ortigas

Image
5 years. For many, that may seem like a long time but seriously, 5 years or 1825 days to be exact could fly by sooo fast. Take this year for example, would you believe that we're 16 days away from 2016? That's just a little more than 2 weeks and it's time to bid the year good bye. Wow! That said, I couldn't believe that it has been 5 years since my last visit to 22 Prime in Discovery Suites. I'm glad that Paul and I were able to squeeze in a nice steak lunch before checking in at the hotel two months ago for my sister's big day. Despite how long it has been, I could still vividly remember how amazing my lunch at 22 Prime was. The big Tomahawk steak as well as the delicious bread basket with three yummy spreads brings back delicious memories. I even remembered telling myself that I have to take Paul there given that he loves loves loves steak.  Well, finally we managed to do that and it was indeed a nice sunny day to enjoy our steak lunch. Of course, ...

Highlands Prime Steakhouse in Estancia Mall

Image
Papa turned another year older and wiser recently and we were so glad to be home to celebrate this special day with him! As he's a big steak lover, we chose to have our family lunch at Highlands Prime Steakhouse in the new Estancia Mall as they all had a wonderful experience dining at the Mall of Asia branch. Initially, I thought that this was similar to the one in Tagaytay Highlands so I was semi-daydreaming about the John Wayne Prime Rib on our way to the restaurant. Sadly, I failed to notice that both are two different restaurant with the word "prime" setting them apart. Not to worry though as the menu showed great promise nonetheless.  While we all had our individual orders, Mommy couldn't help but order the Paella Negra  which came in a white ceramic plate and not on a piping hot llanera. Right there and then, my hopes of enjoying the soccarat went *kapoof* as I knew that it won't be like the real thing . The paella was tasting and they were quit...

Morton's : The Steakhouse at Mandarin Oriental Singapore

Image
Over dinner at Prata Planet one evening, my friends and I began talking about steak. Yes, I was in the presence of steak-loving guys who take their cuts of meat seriously. I asked around where's the best steak in Singapore and I got a number of recommendations. My list of places to eat in Singapore is starting to get really long... hooray! One of those recommendations given was Morton's Steakhouse at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Well, that's one restaurant that I can happily put a check on my list as I was able to visit this a few months back. Let me tell you about my Morton's experience.  Stepping inside the restaurant, Morton's Steakhouse has a similar feel to most fine-dining steak restaurants -- heavy wooden interiors, dimly lit with candlelights on every table (or in this case a really cute lamp), servers in black and white. The menu was pretty simply and straight-forward. We were served with bread for starters. I have to admit that I wasn't ab...

Dinner Date at Cru Steakhouse, Manila Marriott Hotel

Image
Every time Paul takes me out on a date, I still feel all giddy and excited about it. Mind you, we have been dating for more than 9 years already! While we're no longer the college kids that we used to be where sharing a cup of Mocha Frappuccino and a plate California Maki would turn me all lovey-dovey , I still blush and get tiny butterflies in my stomach whenever he tells me to prepare for a date. As we were planning our mini staycation at the Manila Marriott Hotel a few weeks back, we both agreed to just enjoy the hotel's facilities and not to go out..not even for dinner. This just means that we will be having ALL our meals inside the hotel. Luckily, our overnight stay also came with a complimentary dinner at Cru Steakhouse . Yay! It was both our first time to actually dine at Cru except for the time wherein we were invited to try Marriott Cafe's Sunday Brunch which includes crossing over to Cru for some juicy steak and seared foie gras. Remember we had guests ...
