A new love at Pepper Lunch

Image
My love affair with Pepper Lunch goes way back in 2008 when it first opened at the Power Plant Mall. Since then I've been fond of their Double Beef Pepper Rice, the Salmon, Chicken and a lot more! I also love their desserts and ice cream! Recently, I revisited their Shangri-la Mall branch with the goal to try something else. Following the lead of fellow bloggger Richard , I got the Double Beef Curry Rice (Php 266) and I found myself falling madly in love with it. I love the rich spicy taste of the rice and the tender meat that somehow melts in your mouth. How I wish their double beef though is really double in quantity as we couldn't tell the difference between this and the regular serving. Still, I was in curry beef heaven. I loved it so much that I had to sweet talk Paul into taking me back to Pepper Lunch the next day. Yep! I had Pepper Lunch for two consecutive days and I was a happy camper. :) With my BIG day fast approaching, I seriously have to put a hold on m...

Fourth Time's a Charm : The Pepper Lunch Story

Image
While I love trying out new restaurants on a regular basis, I also seek comfort in places where I know I can always get good food and wonderful service. Such is the case for Pepper Lunch . It can be seen how much I love the place from the numerous times that I've blogged about it here , here and here . It's funny because no matter how often I visit, it always takes a while for me to decide on my order simply because everything looks so good. I always have a hard time deciding whether I should order something new or get any one of those that I love. Over lunch today, I tried a combination of something that I have already tried before and something new. No, I didn't order a feast for myself but instead got the Unagi & Salmon Set (Php. 538). I'm not really sure if this is available for a limited time only, nonetheless I'm glad I was finally able to try it. Served on the same sizzling plate, I was also given a saucer filled with sweet Unagi sauce which I generousl...

Bitten once again by the Pepper Lunch bug!

This is a classic story of a guy who, after finally giving in to his girlfriend's stubborn cravings and insistent requests demands, agreed to drive beyond their usual dating area just to come face to face with a line that had to make them wait for 10 minutes before getting a table and eventually falling in love with the food that made him truly understand the reason why every single food enthusiasts is totally crazy about..... PEPPER LUNCH!!! It was just an ordinary weeknight and I was lucky enough to convince Paul to have dinner at Rockwell. I guess it's true that when you're with someone long enough, you'll have that strong connection going on that sooner or later you can read each other's minds. True enough, Paul knew that we'll be having dinner at Pepper Lunch the moment I suggested that we go to Rockwell. Either that or I'm just too obvious :P Waiting in line was an ordeal . I do not understand how people can stand just waiting there while smelling the...

Hi! I'm Fran and I'm a Pepper Lunch fan

After my first visit and after declaring to the world that i LOVE Pepper Lunch, I found myself back there again with two friends who are soooo exciting to get bitten by the PepperBug . Call it good coincidence that my favorite chicken and salmon plate was out of stock forcing me to order something else. I then chose to have Cut Steak and Burger (P280) and a glass of Coke Light instead. With very low expectations on my order as I am not really a steak person, I examined the thinly slices of beef and the meaty burger patty that were served in front of me. The aroma is just heavenly! Once again, I quickly spread the butter on the steak and the burger then flipping them over to make sure my meat gets evenly cooked. The Verdict The steak is really soft although I would have enjoyed it more without the visible fat strips on each cut. The burger, however, was a winner! I like how tender it is and it's so flavorful that I almost forgot to make use of the two sauces available on our table. ...

I Love You Pepper Lunch!

One of my resolutions this year (and for the past 15 years at that) was to lose all the unwanted pounds and to live a healthy, sexy life forever! Unfortunately, I've been pushing this back from time to time, later on realizing that I am NOT progressing at all *sigh*. With my increase fondness for food blogging and continuous quest to share with all of you the newest and coolest food places out there, I know I have to be more careful in adding more weight and in putting my health in danger. Last week, I made a new resolution to totally cut rice out of my diet. Since I always have a bowl of oatmeal in the morning and a small pandesal for lunch, I realized that I might as well continue eating light for the entire day. My no-rice plan was suppose to begin yesterday. Oh dear, this was until I realized that I am meeting up with a couple of fellow bloggers to try Pepper Lunch , the newest and most talked about restaurant in Powerplant Mall. I've heard so much about their oh-so-soft-it...
