Prost! : German Feast at Paulaner Brauhaus Singapore #paulanersg

Image
One thing that I'm quite amazed about Singapore is the presence of microbreweries all around the city. It's quite interesting to walk into a restaurant-bar and see huge bronze colored boilers which houses the different types of beers being brewed in-house. You can never get anything more authentic than that. Paulaner Brauhaus is one of the oldest microbreweries in Singapore as it's actually on its 18th year today. That said, I was so excited to walk into Paulaner Brauhaus ' newly renovated outlet at Millenia Walk for a nice long lunch one afternoon in the Lion City. While beer is totally a big no-no for preggy ladies, I was so happy to see that they have a very extensive food menus that I could enjoy.

Beer is Food at the Golden Mile Food Centre

99 bottles of beer on the wall...99 bottles of beer... A couple of weeks ago, Paul and I were inspired to sing this song during our bus ride home. It was after a visit to the  Beer is Food  stall at the Golden Mile Food Centre where we had not one, not two, not even five but twelve bottles of beer and ciders! Okay, before you all wonder why we suddenly went on a drinking spree, we were actually invited for an exclusive beer tasting session which was so fun! Beer is Food is a new hawker stall found at the basement of the busy Golden Mile Food Centre. This is very near the Bugis district and is actually where you can find tour buses that heads to Johor Malaysia (a.k.a. Legoland).  I have to admit I'm no hardcore beer drinker and I really do not enjoy the chico -smelling after taste and smell I'd get after downing a bottle of beer. Anyway, Beer is Food carries top quality imported beer varieties and I was ensured that my perception of beer will change after this fa...

Mala Hotpot at Ximending, Taipei City

Image
I initially wanted to share with you my Taipei experience in chronological order. However, as I try to recall the three amazing days spent in beautiful Taiwan, I can't stop drooling over our last lunch at Mala Hotpot . Therefore, I'm skipping forward and will begin my food adventure series in my new-found favorite restaurant in Taipei. Months before our trip, my friends and I began fixing our itinerary. It's a good thing that we all wanted to shop and eat. Jeanny and Karl, having been to Taipei before, were tasked to take care of our last day. Initially the plan was to feast on Xiao Long Baos at Din Tai Fung for lunch and have a special eat-all-you-can hotpot dinner before heading to the airport. However, we had to move our schedule around as Mala Hotpot cannot accomodate us for dinner and has only one slot for us that day -- 2PM to 4PM . Still, we were all determined to give Mala Hotpot a try after Jeanny told us that they have eat-all-you-can Haagen Dazs and Moven...

September is finally HERE! It is officially the start of the -ber months which means it's time to seriously start Christmas shopping! In fact, Paul and I have already started ours a couple of weeks ago (teeheehee) . It is also the time to start saving up for those numerous holiday get-togethers. It will be a crazy season so do not ever forget to put a BIG smile on your face and CELEBRATE the nights away! Coincidentally, September is also the month when this blog will turn 1! As my way of saying THANK YOU to everyone, do expect a lot of surprises, new and exciting changes and more stories to be told in the coming months! So please do watch out for these! I'm soooooo excited! Breaking the Guiness As much as I would whine how we Filipinos are so addicted to breaking all possible records just to be part of the Guiness World Book (eg: biggest pancit bilao, biggest walis tingting, longest braided hair ever...) , it is still exciting to be a "part of history" so to speak. ...
