On-board Singapore Airlines SQ 638 (Singapore - Tokyo)

Image
I'm backkkkk!!! I've been very delinquent in blogging lately but I have a good reason why. It's because Paul and I went on a much-awaited trip to Tokyo, Japan with a brief stopover in Manila . We've been planning this trip since last year and despite that, I still had to cram our itinerary a week before we flew off since I had to deal with moving flats sometime in between! Oh dear life.  Anyway, all's good and I'm so happy we made the most of our first-ever visit to Tokyo and believe me, this is definitely the first of many returns! We took the red-eye flight to Tokyo via Singapore Airlines  because Paul has work on Saturdays. Since we're flying out Singapore at 11:55PM, this gave us ample of time to do all our household chores, run last minute errands, do last minute packing, shower and slowly made our way to Changi Airport . We even had time to grab a bite at the lounge too! On-board SQ 638 , the first thing I noticed was that the aircraft seems t...

Onboard Singapore Airlines (Singapore - Manila - Singapore)

Image
For someone who grew up getting all antsy and fidgety when traveling, I'd say I've successfully won the battle against air sickness with all these regular trips that I have been taking through the years. In fact, there are even some flights that have gotten me really excited starting from the moment I step into the plane. That's one of the best things about traveling right? Being able to enjoy the flight towards your destination. During my recent flight back home, Paul and I decided to fly Singapore Airlines. We have been flying budget the entire year so we thought that we might as well treat ourselves with a little comfort this holiday season. Was it worth it? Yes, Yes and YES! Check out the meals that we had during the flights to Manila and back to Singapore: SQ 912 : Singapore to Manila I wanted to try something different during this leg so I specifically requested for an All-Seafood Meal . Yes, Singapore Airlines allows you to specify any dietary restrictions ...

Onboard China Southern Airlines (Manila - Beijing - Manila)

I'm finally back! After recovering from such a tiring travel for a day, here I am back at the daily grind yet totally excited for the upcoming weekend. My trip to Beijing was short but nonetheless very interesting and inspiring. It was for work and what I love about being able to join work-related functions wherein I get to meet our fellow counterparts is the fact that I get to learn a lot from them. It always gives me that drive to do more for my brands..it keeps me inspired and motivated. That's always a good thing, right? Well, as mentioned in my earlier post, this was the first time that I traveled on my own. I'm happy to report that I came back in one piece. Though, I sadly caught a bad case of cough and colds from the change in temperature and probably from those white cotton-like particles that were flying around Beijing all four days but I'll be okay hopefully in a few more days. Loading up on Vitamin C and H2O!! One thing that I look forward to when tra...

A new airline in town: AirAsia Philippines

Image
Looks like we, Filipinos, will be able to travel more often come 4th quarter of this year as we welcomed AirAsia Philippines that flew all the way from Toulouse, France and landed at the Diosdado Macapagal Airport in Clark, Pampanga last August 15. I shall step aside and let Paul tell you about his experience as he was able to witness the arrival of the new low-cost carrier that will definitely add more excitement to the travel industry. It's pretty obvious that Fran and I love to travel. In fact, we have been slowing down with our travel plans lately after a back-to-back vacation to the United States and to Taipei, Taiwan early this year. Traveling, despite how fun and enriching it may be, can really hurt your pocket if it wasn't planned and scheduled properly. Thankfully, as travelers, we get to have more options nowadays to travel within a budget. There are a lot of low-cost carriers that can fly domestic and international at a very cheap rate. Of course, you just h...

Onboard Delta Airlines (Los Angeles - Narita - Manila)

Image
We're finally back! With just a few more blog entries left, I will be concluding our amazing US trip which was filled with a lot of delicious finds and fun sights. I love to travel but I honestly dread the long-haul flights. I am a very restless person and to make me sit still for four hours straight is torture already which is why I have to fill my bag with chips and magazines to keep me busy all throughout the flight. Flight attendant: "Maam, this is a 12-hour flight" Frannywanny: What???? (panic mode) This was the first thing the flight attendant told me as I boarded the plane. All the while I thought it would just be a 9-hour flight like before but due to the law of gravity and the force of the wind, this will be a longer flight. Boy, oh boy! I am not ready for a 12-hour flight! I'm glad though Paul filled our hand carry with snacks but I think I'll just try to catch as much sleep as I can to prepare myself for Manila time again. Just like my first flig...

Onboard Delta Airlines (Manila - Narita - Los Angeles)

Greetings from cold and sunny California! After 16 long hours of trying to keep still and stay as comfortable as we can in the plane, Paul, Leah and I finally made it to the U.S.A.!!! While I'm trying to decide whether to catch some sleep as it's already 3 in the afternoon here and run the risk of staying up the entire evening later or to just withstand the urge to shut my heavy eyelids to be able to enjoy a deep slumber later, I think I'll just share with you how our transit was via Delta Airlines . The Good Things First and foremost, I love the service. We were well taken cared of by the flight attendants at any given point of the flight. I particularly liked one Chinese flight attendant who was very attentive to our needs. Upon knowing that Paul and I are Chinese too, she began speaking to us in Mandarin which I struggled to respond in small broken phrases and relied on my husband to supply the missing words. (Oh, how I wish I took my Mandarin classes more seriously ...
