Meat Liquor in Duxton Hill, Singapore [CLOSED]

Image
*note: I just learned that MeatLiquor is now closed. The reason, I'm not very sure but I'm so sad about it. There goes the only place where I go to for Fried Pickles and yummy Burgers. :( Just for one night, we totally threw "diet" out of the window. So longggg!! *waves* Well, we had a good reason. A was in town and the NKids got together for a night of meat, meat and more meat! I was so excited to learn that London's famous Meat Liquor opened a branch here in Singapore a few months ago, so this is another thing I happily crossed out from my list after our visit. The menu was pretty straight forward, there were a couple of burger options, salad (but who wants them right?) and sides! We started with some Deep-Fried Mac & Cheese  (S$15) which looked just as mouth-watering as it sounded. Come on, who doesn't love Mac & Cheese right? I love how the creamy macaroni was well-encased in such a nice deep-fried crust.

In Love with Bergs -- Gourmet Burgers, Singapore

Image
"Can't this be love, I'm feeling right now..." ♥ It was just an ordinary late afternoon in Arab street where my colleague J and I were quickly walking around looking for a place to eat. We went there for an event which was about to start in 30 minutes so we weren't picky and just entered this empty non-air-conditioned restaurant thinking we will be able to order, eat, pay and leave. Little did we know that this place was Bergs -- Gourmet Burger , the one that I've been wanting to try for a year now! Now, isn't that called fate or perhaps destiny? The menu was really interesting. There was a good mix of beef burgers, chicken burgers, a veggie (tofu) burger, a burger filled with falafel and even a fish burger. I caught a whiff of the beef patty being grilled in the kitchen so I went for the Berg with Cheese (S$14.50 Bergs size / S$11 small size). My colleague J went for the Porto Pollo  (S$14.50 Bergs size / S$11 small size) which is a Peri-Peri-s...

Twist and Shout at Johnny Rockets

Image
Johnny Rockets may have been around since they first opened at the Eastwood Mall two years ago but it was my first time there after checking out Robinsons Galleria 's newest wing called the Veranda , two weeks ago. Why I love the Veranda . It has it's own parking space! Note though that for those who are planning to shop after dining at any of the outlets here, the rate may be a bit higher as compared to parking in their basement parking lot. However, it gives you direct access to the numerous restaurants available and this is perfect especially when you're very hungry just like how I was when my sister and I visited that day.  As we were deciding on where to eat, we noticed that there was loud music coming from one particular restaurants and the servers where all outside dancing. Yes, they were dancing and clapping and cheering. What a happy sight! We scanned the menu and later on decided to give Johnny Rockets a try. We were told that their serving is quite big ...

Meat Lovers Unite at Tender Bob's

Image
A few months back when Paul and I were still busy preparing for our BIG day , we found ourselves at the Shangri-la Mall where we had an appointment with the Rustan's bridal registry where we were given the chance to choose a couple of lovely items that we would like to receive as gifts from our dear friends and relatives (big thanks to those who made our dreams come true by choosing the items on our list!) . After going around Rustan's within the time allotted for us, Paul suddenly felt hungry and invited me to have an early dinner at Tender Bob's . On rare occasions such as this, he suddenly had a craving for one big meaty burger. So off to Tender Bob's we went. In every visit, we always get Tender Bob's Onion Rings (Php. 140). These are hug rings that are stack high on a wooden pole. I love the presentation and I love the rings even more. I prefer big chunky onion rings over the tiny ones and nothing beats dipping this into their homemade creamy sauce. Pau...

Munching our way to Burger Avenue

Image
Deciding on where to have dinner one evening, I simply asked Paul , "What do you feel like having tonight -- Burger or Pizza?" He immediately said, "I think I'm craving for burger." So burger it was! Actually we both have been craving for burger a week ago but after a failed attempt to order burgers over at a neighborhood burger stop, we are determined to satisfy our craving that evening. Since we were already in Makati for some errands before dinner, I suggested that we pass by A. Venue Mall to check out Burger Avenue . This was highly recommended to us by our friends R and L. Find a parking spot at A.Venue was a breeze! Probably because we were there on a weeknight but with an underground and outside parking, it's highly unlikely that you would have to spend a lot of time looking for an empty parking slot. Welcome to Burger Avenue Burger Avenue is located at the far end of the mall. Don't worry, the mall is not that big and it wouldn't be a chall...

Red Letter Day at Tony Roma's

Image
Paul and I are such big fans of ribs ! We enjoy the tender, falls-off-the-bone type that was perfectly marinaded in yummy barbeque sauce and grilled to perfection. Sure we have tried a number of rib dishes here and there but we are still in the look-out for that perfect ribs platter that will make us lick our fingers clean and leave our stomachs happy. I've been looking forward to this year's Valentine's Day simply because Paul told me he got something planned already. You see, for probably 350 days in the year, Paul will just leave me to choose which restaurant to dine in and to plan our entire day's itinerary. For the remaining 15 days though, which includes Valentine's Day, my birthday and our monthsaries and anniversaries, then he would take charge in doing so. He told me that we will have a fun romantic dinner in Makati and left it at that. The suspense was killing me as I was dying to find out where exactly our Valentine's dinner would be. Despite consta...
