Explore Singapore: River Safari

Image
While Singapore is popularly known as Asia's Little Red Dot  mainly due to its small land area, this has never hindered the nation in becoming one of the fastest growing country in the region (if not the world). Take their wildlife reserves for example, the country is home to hundreds of land, sea and air creatures and mind you, they all live freely in their own natural habitat instead of being thrown in a cage. This was one of the things that has impressed me when I first visited the Singapore Zoo more than two decades ago. Growing up, my parents would make it a point to take Pan and I to various educational sites be it in Manila or outside of the country. They both believe that learning is an ongoing process and this should not be limited to what was taught within the four corners of the classroom. I really love going on trips with them as we always come back learning something new. So, when my family came to visit me a few weeks ago, I think it's about time to return the...

Explore Singapore : S.E.A. Aquarium in Sentosa

Image
Go around the world...under the sea at the S.E.A. Aquarium in Sentosa Island  here in Singapore . That was exactly what Paul and I did a few months ago during one of our Sundates exploring the Lion City. Paul is such an animal lover that at some point I am starting to believe that he could have Dr. Dolittle 's special power too. Given how fascinated he is with all types of animals, I suggested that we check out the S.E.A. Aquarium has we have been hearing quite a lot of good things about it. True enough, the long queue that greeted us for the ticket counter was the first sign that this was indeed a must-visit spot here in Singapore. Just like everywhere else in this bustling city, the service was very efficient so we got to the front of the line in no time. We got the One Day Pass (S$38) which will allow us to visit all 10 zones inside. As you enter, you'll be able to check out the Maritime Experiential Museum  where there's a show being projected that will take yo...

Top 10 Tokyo Sights by Pannywanny (Part 1)

For the past 5 and a half years, you have been reading my stories predominantly from just one voice -- MINE. Once in a while, Paul would pop in with his own stories but that's about it. I've never had any other guest blogger simply because I keep this blog close to my heart the same way I probably would with a hard-bound diary. It would definitely take a special person to be able to drop in here and to share his/her thoughts as well. Aside from Paul, there's one person who means the world to me. She has been my food/shopping/pamper-me/movie buddy for the past 28 years (and still counting). People may come and go, friends may drop in and out of our lives but one thing is for sure, I know this person will stick to me like glue simply because we love each other unconditionally despite all the imperfections we both may have.  Dear readers, I'd like to introduce you to my little sister Pan . A big travel bug and an adventurous foodie too! She has been traveling to Japan at...
