Pack and Go with Crumpler Philippines

Image
For most of you in Manila, I'm pretty sure that you're really excited for the day to end as it will officially mark the start of your four-day weekend! Awww you lucky lucky people! I have an extra work day to go and I'm off for that much-awaited 3 day break that I've been looking forward to since February! Who agrees with me that while traveling is really fun, packing your bags and luggage can sometimes be a chore. Despite my OCD tendencies, I really do not like packing before a trip as it means making sure that I bring the right clothes in the right quantity and to make it all fit things inside my luggage without packing in too much weight too. Paul is an pro in packing light so it really has been his frustration that his wife (a.k.a. me) always has the tendency to bring the entire closet if not the house with her. I really couldn't help it! The worst thing is to get to your destination and you realize you left something at home. I'm learning though...let...

[CONTEST ALERT!!!] Crumpler : Guess what's in the Bag?

Lately, I've been feeling quite restless. Despite trying my best to relax every weekend, I feel that there's something missing... Today I woke up and realized that it has been 5 whole months since we've last traveled and that's when I got my answer. I miss traveling and that's what's missing in my life right now. Paul and I have been so busy that we haven't been out of Metro Manila since April for our Taiwan trip . For someone who used to travel at least once a month before, five months of no traveling activity is truly hazardous to my health. Well, we're taking it step by step. First, we've booked a couple of short trips scheduled in the next few months. Next, here I am again reading up on our next target destinations, soon will be working on our itineraries. Lastly, we were gifted with this amazing bag that we will surely be bringing with us on our next trip. It's a pretty Crumpler Spring Peeper with Wheels (Php. 9,850)! The perfect an...

Random Thoughts from a Bag Person : My Bratpack story

Image
I've been using a bag for as long as I can remember. From the time I was a baby, my parents would lug around a cutie baby bag that would contain my bottles, milk powder, pacifier and a couple more essential items. As a young child, I would drag my trusty, highly durable stroller as I go in and out of school. In high school, there was my red canvass Jansport bag that I would oh-so-casually sling over my left shoulder in what I thought made me look very cool. In that bag, I had my Nokia 5110 cellphone, a jumbo stainless bullet tumbler, my Lisa Frank binder and the cutest neon pens found in National Bookstore. Oh, how I love my school supplies back then. Going through college and work, I have never left home without a bag. The sizes of my bags would range from the smallest leather purses to big tote bags. I would also make sure that the color of my bag won't only compliment but would perfectly match my outfit. Then comes BratPack At times, I would have to buy a bag that would be ...

the MiXeD uP Store

Image
Not so long ago, my sister and I started a small business. We stumbled upon this opportunity when a good friend offered us to sell her bags and just told us to give it a try. We took her offer and with no expectations, we posted our homemade photos online. Guess what?! Those wonderful bags sold like pancakes! In fact, we ended up seeing our friend/supplier on a daily basis to replenish our stock. Thus, on that fateful day -- April 19, 2004, MiXeD uP was born. From bags, we added our line up with accessories, clothes and shoes! Running MiXeD uP has taught my sister and I a couple of valuable lessons that I doubt we'll ever learn in school. What I love most about the business was having the privilege to meet a number of wonderful buyers turned friends. We loved our business so much that it was hard to let it go for a while to give way to bigger priorities (school for her, work for me). Nonetheless, we never said goodbye to MiXeD uP and vowed that someday it will be back. and we kep...
