Barrio by Mex Out at 313 Somerset

I don't know about you but there's something truly comforting about eating Mexican food. I just love having a bowl of fully loaded nachos, burritos and tacos and most especially adding guacamole anywhere possible. Do you agree with me? Mexican has been our go-to whenever we want something more laid back. Back in Manila, we'd even pair our Mexican feast with a glass of beer with lime but since alcohol is quite pricey here in the Lion City..then a glass of soda would do. Haha! Kidding aside, we're just so lucky to have discovered quite a number of good Mexican spots that never fails to satisfy our cravings whenever it happens. Recently, we got to try Barrio by Mex Out  at 313 Somerset . It has actually been there since middle of 2016 but since we rarely get to frequent Orchard Road during the weekend, it was when we agreed to meet up with cousin J for an impromptu dinner out that we decided to check the restaurant out. We started our meal with Loaded Nachos  (S$...

Dallas Restaurant & Bar at Suntec City Sky Garden

If there's one mall that I would recommend for visiting friends to go to, that would definitely be Suntec City . It's amazing how this mall has transformed itself through the years. I remembered when my family and I first visited Suntec sometime in the 90s. We went to check out the wishing fountain and had dinner at Tony Roma's after checking out the Warner Bros store. Fast forward to 5 years ago, the mall has expanded to several more towers and while the Warner Bros. store wasn't there anymore, it has been replaced by countless other retail shops and more F&B outlets too. Just when we thought they're be happy with that and no more expansion will be done, then Suntec had another renovation and expansion two years ago where they have added more wings. Today, it's one of my favorite malls in Singapore because of its wide variety of restaurants and cool foodie concepts such as Pasarbella and the Sky Garden which has been converted into such a hip and happ...

B&T Mexican Kitchen in Ortigas Avenue

Image
After our fun reunion dinner with Ei at B&T last month, we were back again a week again this time with The Club to sample more of what B&T has to offer. We were a huge group of 10 and despite being seated in a long table, Philip of B&T still managed to fill up our table with food, food and more food! Let me share with you a number of B&T dishes that I really enjoyed that evening: While waiting for the others to arrive, we had baskets of Chips and Chili con Carne (Php. 180) to munch on. I had this also during my first visit and I love the crunchy colorful nachos. It's lightly salted allowing the Chili con Carne dip to shine. I'm glad that it doesn't have a hint of spice making it very kid-friendly.
