Snack Time : KFC BBQ Shredder Sandwich

Image
A day after the incident , I went home feeling under the weather. I guess my resistance suddenly went down and I immediately felt my tonsils acting up again. Well, there was this white paper bag that caught my eye and somehow, it made me smile. Like what I said before, surprising me with food is always ALWAYS a good thing. Thank you Col. Sanders!  I peeked inside and found three red boxes that are quite similar to the kind that we'd use for Mom's chocolate cupcakes. Instead of having cupcakes or any sweet treats inside, KFC filled each box with the new BBQ Shredder Sandwich . Yep, that's the name of the new sandwich. If you ask me, I find using the word 'shredder' a bit off. Those in the corporate world would associate the shredder with trash. We shred all unnecessary documents, we shred all unused forms and memos, we shred all things we have to dispose. I personally wouldn't use the word "shredder" when food is involved. Well, that's me so ...

Snack Time : KFC Mac and Cheese Bites

Image
Here's a new snack discovery! It's amazing how KFC continues to innovate to tickle the taste buds of its wide range of clientele. Who would have thought that you can have more than chicken in KFC ! Recently, they introduced the Mac and Cheese Bites (Php. 49) and luckily, I was given an early sneak peek as I was able to try it before it was officially launched to the public! Thank you Col. Sanders! At first glance, it looked like a risotto ball but as I bit into the crunchy deep-fried covering I enjoyed the creamy and cheesy filling made of macaroni bits, bacon and cheese sauce. Don't expect though that you'll be able to feel and bite into the macaroni as it's pretty mashed up already. It's not so bad only I find the cheese sauce to be a tad too salty for my taste.

Fire up with KFC Zinger Double Down

Image
One Friday evening, I was having dinner with my family when the doorbell rang and our househelp called me saying that someone was looking for me. I walked to the gate and saw a fire fighter running towards my direction and he seemed like he came from the other street. He stopped to open his bag and carefully pulled out a white paper bag telling me to be careful because the content is really hot. I laughed as I was handed the new KFC Zinger Double Down , true the sandwich seems to be pretty warm so I handled it with extra care. "Tawag nalang po kayo sa Fire Department pag sobrang init po ma'am" (Please call the fire department if it's too hot, Ma'am) was his last line before he left.  As he left, Paul and I quickly went to the dining table to try the sandwich out. At first, it tasted like the regular double down sandwich but wait till the spiciness starts kicking and yes, I was in the verge of calling the fire department as I can feel my taste buds on fire ....

Where in the World is your Chill Zone?

Image
Don't you sometimes wish you can be anywhere in the world with just a blink of an eye? How about with just a couple of slurps and a few clicks? Before you think I might be going crazy, I came across this interesting photo contest brought by KFC where you may submit your most creative photo of you and your friends posing anywhere in the Philippines that resembles that one place that you would like to go to. Perhaps a certain mall would resemble that of the Grand Palace of Bangkok or the Esplanade of Singapore, take a couple of wacky shots together with a cup of KFC's Krusher and upload this photo in the official KFC Krushers Chill Zone Website . You have up until July 30, 2010 to submit your entries. The good news is that there's no limit to the number of entries that you can submit. The contest will have two stages: 1) You photos will be shortlisted by the KFC officials and after which... 2) Online viewers will be asked to vote for their favorite photo! (so alert...
