Backstreet Boys : In a World Like This 2015 (Singapore)

Image
Long time readers of this blog probably know by now that I LOVE the Backstreet Boy s. Yes, I love music and I can't live without Spotify but my relationship with Nick, AJ, Howie D, Kevin and Brian goes way back in 1996. That's 19 happy years ago! So, when news broke out that they're coming to Singapore . I immediately told Paul and my very sweet hubby decided to buy me a ticket as his early birthday present for me. Unfortunately, he refuses to go to watch this female-dominated concert haha!  *sigh*  Luckily, I found fellow BSB fans in the office and within my groups of friends who were all more than happy to join me. Hooray! We fan girls have to stick together.

[CONTEST ALERT!!!] Coloud Headphones and MORE!

Can you imagine life without music? Just like a tasteless and dry roasted chicken or a bland, cardboard-like cracker, that's probably how life is without music. Flavorless, boring and dry. I grew up in a family who loves two things -- food and music. My Mom is not only a good cook but she is a fantastic pianist too. Kongkong, whom I've mentioned in numerous occasions here, can make the best Pata Tim in the land and he plays the piano, organ, violin and flute too. He also sings and conducts his barkada's choral group as well! Just imagine how our wedding reception was turned into a mini family concert as almost everyone wanted a spot on stage! It is pretty obvious how Pan and I grew up listening to all types of music. Our music knowledge ranges across a number of genres from The Cascades down to Madonna and of course to our generation's boy band craze. Outside the house, we have our iPods to keep us company. My iPod Touch has been my gym staple (well on times I do g...

NKOTBSB 2012 : One Night, One Stage -- Once in a Lifetime

Image
I had the time of my life last night. Just the perfect way to cap my birthday weekend off that is to spend a fun evening watching my favorite band perform on stage. The only band that I spent my teenage years obsessing over to the point that I have kept every single magazine article, centerfold pull-outs, a card signed by all five of them and countless CDs and singles that I bought using my school allowance. My love affair with the Backstreet Boys began on the school year of 1996 and it goes on till this day. To Nick, Howie, AJ, Brian and Kevin (who no longer joins the group), you got a loyal fan in me! :) So when news broke out that the Backstreet Boys are teaming up with the New Kids on the Block , a popular boyband in the 80s -- expect to see the newly-constructed SM Mall of Asia Arena filled with eager fans majority of which are screaming ladies in their 20s/30s. To be honest, I had second thoughts about watching this particular concert due to the high ticket rates and ...

In The Music Scene : NKOTBSB in Manila!!!

Image
Look who's coming to Manila!!! Two years ago, I heard about the news of this amazing musical collaboration called NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block / Backstreet Boys). Two of the greatest boy bands of all time together in one concert. I mentioned in my previous entry that yes, this is definitely one contest that I will never miss. I love the Backstreet Boys and yes I am a HUGE fan! ♥ I squealed like a little girl when I saw their huge billboard announcing their upcoming concert  in California last year. Oh how I prayed to the high heavens that they'll come to Asia..more specifically, the Philippines SOON.... ... and they will!!! On June 3, 2012 -- 2 days AFTER my 30th birthday! What a perfect birthday gift this would make, don't you think? *wink wink*  Sadly, I might have to miss this :( My boy band concert buddy Pan is flying out for another business trip on that day and I highly doubt Paul would be game enough to endure at least two hours of fan girls screami...

NKOTB + BSB = *swoon*

Paging all boy band fans!!! It's just like a dream come true! To have two of the hottest (and cutest) boy bands come together in one concert! NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK + BACKSTREET BOYS One night of awesome music, non-stop dancing and endless screaming! According to EW.Com : The tour will kick off in summer 2011. In fact, rumors of the bands’ joint tour started shortly after the Backstreet’s surprise appearance during the NKOTB concert in June. They’ll reunite next on Nov. 21 for a performance on the American Music Awards. This is one concert that I will never miss!! :) I hope they would come to the Philippines! Check their Official Website for Tour Schedules .

Finally the day has arrived! It's February 27, 2010 -- the day when I will finally see AJ, Nick, Howie and Brian in person! Yes, the Backstreet Boys are here in MANILA ! I really felt like a 13 year old again listening and singing along to their greatest hits. I can still remember the dance steps and I screamed like a high school girl upon seeing Nick Carter . We arrived at the Araneta Coliseum just in time to settle down, buy ourselves a couple of snacks and drinks and survey the crowd. Check out my opening video below: Then the lights went out and everyone went wild. Out came our four favorite boys as they begin to dance and sing our favorite songs. Presenting...Nick, AJ, Brian and Howie!!! the best dance moves *sigh* I love you Backstreet Boys They sang a mix of their new and old songs. I love them all! I can't believe I have been a fan for 15 years already! till your next concert...*sniffle* Obviously happy after the fun concert This was definitely the BEST concert that ...
