Third time's a Charm : Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie in Greenhills Promenade

Image
For someone who only gets to fly back home at least once a month and who stays in Manila at an average of just 3-4 days in total, choosing the places to dine in is really crucial. I really have to plan each meal well. So, it's really rare that I get to repeat a restaurant given my long, long list of new places to try. However, I got to admit that I do have my favorites and I really have to give in to my cravings once in a while. Remember the first time I tried Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie  with my family in SM Megamall? I fell in love everything that we ordered most especially the amazing House Special Trio . It's definitely the best fried rice in town. On my next visit back home, I went back again to Tuan Tuan  this time with my in laws . Then, I was able to try more dishes which I got to my list of favorites such as the XO Radish Cake  and the Deep-Fried Baby Squid with Aioli Sauce . As you all know, December is the time of the year where we get to spend more tim...

C' Italian Dining at Angeles, Pampanga

Image
I'd say old habits die hard...and so does this almost half-a-decade-long tradition. It has been almost 5 years since Paul and I have been traveling to his hometown in Angeles, Pampanga every February to watch more than a dozen hot air balloons fly up in the sky. In the past years though, we manage to book a hotel room and spend the night in Angeles giving us sufficient time to wake up just about the right time before we should head to the Clark Air Field to catch the sunrise. This year, we took the more challenging option which is to leave Manila at exactly 3AM to be able to get to Clark by 5. I guess word has really spread far and wide about this yearly event that we were faced with a bad traffic jam from the entrance of Clark up until the parking lot of the Air Field. At 430AM there was already a long line of cars filled with excited passengers hoping that they will make it inside on time. We finally found our parking spot at 530AM and thanks to Richard and Irene who got tick...

A taste of history at Romulo's Cafe

Image
Age-old saying would say that "Three's a Crowd." However, I would like to disagree as I am actually a part of not only one but a number of trios. Take for example, my favorite work colleagues K and B who, due to our common love for trying out new food spots , became two of my closest friends through time. Then, of course, there's S and D . Despite graduating from the same high school, our friendship began through blogging and continues to grow as we occasionally meet up to catch up on each other's lives. Lastly, my trio with C and E. Though we rarely get to see each other as often as we're all hoping we could (this actually is becoming a joke that we get to meet up only once a quarter) , every single dinner spent with them is still the same. Full of stories, laughter and genuine friendship. Last night, our dinner was set for us to try out Romulo's Cafe in Quezon City. Usually, it is just the three of us meeting up for dinner but this time, we ag...
