Shawa Wama invades 8Cuts Burger #i8Shawa

Image
Love burgers? Love shawarma? Well in an ordinarily normal world, these two types of food items will never ever mix. You can only have one or the other. But who ever said life is ever ordinary? The metro's well-loved shawarma joint, Shawa Wama , recently invaded the space of its sister restaurant - 8Cuts and I personally couldn't be happier. You see, Shawa Wama opened their first branch at the Powerplant Mall and for somebody who rarely gets out of San Juan City, this has been on my to-try list for the longest time. Thankfully, I got wind that Shawa Wama  will be at 8Cuts  until November 11, 2018 so I made the most of this opportunity and dragged Paul out for an impromptu shawarma date at our neighborhood 8Cuts outlet for lunch one day.

Veggie Love : Pita Pan at The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands

In a world that's predominantly populated by meat-lovers, sometimes I wonder how vegetarians can survive especially when it comes to eating out. I have friends who have been vegetarians all their lives and I'm really amazed at how creative they are in the kitchen. In fact, their food looks mouthwatering and definitely not so sad at all. While I have a long way to go in being able to fully accept all types of veggies, at least I do appreciate a wide variety of leafy and non-leafy veggies and I think, at this point, that's good enough. One thing that I love about vegetables is the light feeling that I get after each meal. While I know I can't live life without meat, I do not enjoy the heavy, guilty feeling that I would get after munching on 2-3 pieces of fried chicken or after finishing even half a slab of ribs. Thus, I would allow myself to take a day off and go all-veg for some sort of "detox" once in a while.  Anyway, a few weeks ago, I had lunch wi...

Quick Stop at Q Kebab in Quezon City

Image
This visit happened months ago thus I wasn't really sure anymore what happened that Paul and I found ourselves in Quezon City at 2PM and we both haven't had lunch. What I could remember was that we were both so hungry and our patience levels were running low that when he asked me to choose a place to eat, I had to make up my mind..and I had to do it FAST. It's a good thing I have my list of restaurants to try saved in my phone. A quick browse through it and focusing on all Quezon City, it was a toss between a small Filipino restaurant by a popular chef or a quick service kebab place. We passed by the Filipino restaurant but sadly couldn't find a parking spot so off we went to Q Kebab which was behind McDonald's along Katipunan Avenue. The store front is bigger so there were a lot of parking spaces available. We heard about Q Kebab from our architect friends K and R. This was one of their many projects and we were impressed how they have made it look mode...

All girls dinner out at Arya Persian Restaurant

Image
We all just got back from our respective trips abroad ... one came back from her exciting F1 trip in Singapore, another gave birth to her second baby after staying in Canada for 8 long months and I'm still experiencing a major hangover from my Uniquely Singapore Trip . Thus, despite the fact that Metro Manila was declared to be under typhoon signal #3 this didn't stop us from meeting up for a relaxing night with good food and a wonderful company. It was a unanimous decision to meet at Arya Persian Restaurant that evening with both friends declaring how much they love Arya and I just couldn't agree more. I love Arya's lamb dishes and the moment the menu was handed to me, I knew right away which page to flip to. It was a toss between the Bareh Koobideh and the Bareh Shish . I would also have wanted to try the spicy Lamb Biryani but since I was coughing that night, I opted to just skip the spicy dishes so as not to worsen my poor sore throat. Finally, I made my choice...
